What Is Love?

When a young boy asks his grandmother, “What is love?”, she admits she can’t quite explain—and sends him out into the world to find his own answer. Along the way, he encounters a fisherman, an actor, and others, each offering a definition: love as a fish, as applause, as the night itself. But none of these answers fully satisfy. Perhaps love, he begins to suspect, is something much closer to home.
