Before he became one of the world’s most celebrated sculptors, Isamu Noguchi was simply a boy curious, creative, and caught between two worlds. Born in the United States and raised in Japan, Noguchi often felt like he didn’t quite belong anywhere. So he built a world of his own one of light, form, and imagination.
In this luminous picture book, award-winning illustrator Emily Hughes beautifully captures the life and spirit of the visionary artist whose Akari lamps transformed the way we see light and space. A moving story about identity, creativity, and finding home within yourself.
